What is the Pharynx?
The pharynx is a muscular tube that connects the nasal cavity and oral cavity to the larynx and esophagus, playing a vital role in both the respiratory and digestive systems. It is anatomically divided into three parts:
- Nasopharynx
- Oropharynx
- Laryngopharynx (Hypopharynx)
