### What is Rhinology?

**Rhinology** is the subspecialty of ENT that deals with the **nose**, **nasal cavity**,and **paranasal sinuses**. It focuses on their anatomy, physiology, common disorders, and surgical interventions.

Rhinology is essential for understanding and managing a variety of conditions such as **Allergic rhinitis**, **Chronic rhinosinusitis**, **Deviated nasal septum (DNS)**, **Epistaxis (nosebleeds)**,  **Nasal polyps**, **Sinonasal tumors**, **Fungal sinusitis**
, **CSF rhinorrhea**.

It also plays a central role in **nasal airflow**, **olfaction**, **sinonasal drainage**, and is key to surgical approaches to the **skull base** and **orbit**.
