# About Dr. Mausumi Das

Dr. Mausumi Das is the ENT surgeon, educator, and artist who created The ENT Resident, an educational website and resource library for ENT residents, ENT postgraduates preparing for exams, and MBBS students.

## Medical and Academic Background

Dr. Mausumi holds an M.S. in Otorhinolaryngology from Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. Her academic achievements include:

- Smt. Anuka Banerjee Memorial Medal – State Topper (Gold Medalist) in Surgery in MBBS
- Gouri Sankar Memorial Medal – State Topper (Gold Medalist) among female candidates in Surgery
- Honours in eleven MBBS subjects: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Community Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, and OBG

## Visual Teaching and The ENT Resident

She also holds a degree in Fine Art and runs the Art By Mausumi channel (https://www.youtube.com/@ArtByMausumi). Her art background informs the visual, diagram-first style of her ENT teaching.

The ENT Resident grew from peer teaching during residency. Dr. Mausumi writes the notes, draws the diagrams, and records the lectures herself. The free notes are paired with corresponding video lectures on The ENT Resident YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/TheENTResident).
